2016-2017 BEC Executive Board

President – Eric Wagner
5th year – Mechanical Engineering

Hello Everyone! My name is Eric Wagner and I’m incredibly excited to lead the Executive Board for BEC this year. Our team has been working together on new ideas to help benefit our members and societies more than ever. I’ve been involved with BEC since I began at UF four years ago and can confidently say that the breadth of experience that our students have grows with each coming year. I cannot wait to see what great things that out Gator Engineers accomplish in the year to come. When I’m not working on BEC or classes, I enjoy to catch up on my reading list, hang out by the pool, and work on my online businesses and blog.

Alejandra Missiego

Vice President of Communications – Alejandra Missiego
4th year – Electrical Engineering

Hey Everyone! This is my first time on the BEC executive board and my goals are to provide our students with as many opportunities to allow them to grow as engineers and professionals, and receive some free food along the way. With so many great organizations and activities, I want students to explore and find what they’re passionate about. On my spare time, I enjoy hanging out with my friends and watching Netflix for hours on end. I’m excited to be a part of this amazing executive board and hope to make it a memorable year for all of us.

Vice President of Programs – Jacob Morrison
4th year – Chemical Engineering

I believe that everyone has the potential to change the world, and that the best way to unlock that potential is through teamwork, goal setting, and positivity. While working with the BEC Executive Board, I hope to provide many meaningful opportunities for our Gator Engineers to grow personally and professionally in those three ways. After all, the difference between “try” and “triumph” is a little bit of umph. On my free time, you can find me out making new friends, serving it up on the beach volleyball court, eating a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, or showing some spirit for our amazing school. Go Gators!

Treasurer – Tyler Richards
3rd year – Industrial & Systems Engineering

Hey all! I’m Tyler Richards. This is my first year as a part of BEC, and I look forward to being as helpful and efficient as possible. Other than finance, I work in the intersection between engineering and civics. I work on data platforms that predict and change the outcomes of elections, and use the statistics and coding knowledge I have gained at UF to do so. Other than politics, I love soccer (Chelsea is my team, and I readily invite FIFA invitations). I play pickup sports every chance I get, and can’t wait to see what this year has to hold.

Secretary – Parth Patel
1st Year – Computer Engineering

Hey everyone! I’m Parth, and I’m excited to be your BEC Secretary. This will be my first year in college and as part of the BEC, so I look forward to getting to you know all of you. One of my favorite quotes is from Gandhi: “If we could change ourselves, the tendencies in the world would also change.” My primary goal for this year is to continue to improve the community of engineering students and give you the opportunities you want to succeed as both a student and individual. In my downtime, I like to hang out with friends, eat out, and nap!
