The home of student involvement at the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering

The Benton Engineering Council was founded in 1910, the same year as the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering. Today BEC is home to 55+ student organizations, making it the largest umbrella organization on campus!

We strive to remove the barriers between our organizations and accomplishing their goals

From designing race cars to putting on workshops, to service and philanthropic events, BEC member organizations are engaged in producing wonderful services for the UF community. However, there are often barriers in the way to putting on those events and services. We seek to remove these barriers to enable our societies to accomplish their goals.
